John Gambril Nicholson poems, ca.1898-1910.

Two poems with Uranian themes: "To George Manville Fenn: Obiit Aug. 26th, 1909" and "The New Prospect," both published in A GARLAND OF LADSLOVE (1911), the first under the heading "Rondeau of Approval." Six other poems: "In an Old-World Garden," perhaps unpublished; "Ballade of the 'White Horses' of Suffolk," March 1919, not in Nicholson's usual cursive hand, but in printed script, perhaps unpublished; and "Qu'il Soit!" annotated "By J. G. Nicholson, 1898. Deutsch von A. Rasokat, Tegel 1910," carbon typescript. "A Rose in June," "All Souls' Eve (From the German of Ferd. von Saar)," and "Physical Energy (Statue by G. F. Watts; going to Rhodesia)," all published in OPALS AND PEBBLES.
